Steven Richardson ran Expansion Media and Hybrid Management Group. Prosecutors said the companies helped turn Medicare beneficiaries into leads, then turned those leads into medically unnecessary brace orders.
Richardson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison over a $110 million Medicare scheme. Doctors and nurses allegedly signed prefilled orders without ever speaking to the people who supposedly needed the braces.
That is not health care. That is a call center with a medical costume and a taxpayer-funded cash register.
