My wife and I knew he was off limits to us and we were there to support his wife. Monday, we were ask to leave because the waiting area was getting overcrowded and we were not immediate family. No problem… (Wife and I were tired of wearing a masks) we left, ran a couple errands and awaited his wife’s phone call indicating it was time fir her to go home so we got something to eat.
Wednesday afternoon, we took his wife to the beach to try to help her relax. Things were going well until she received a disturbing email. She filled out an employer jab status request form a couple weeks ago and requested a jab exemption because she was pregnant. She was notified via email her request was Denied… No jab, No job and they gave her a date (I don’t remember) to comply. I do know the date was prior to her due date. She was going to respond “I quit” but I told her not to reply and make them write her a termination letter. We are so glad we had her at the beach. To say she was a little upset would be putting it mildly. We wanted to take her out to dinner but she declined (wasn’t hungry).
We brought our neighbor home from the hospital yesterday afternoon and he is doing better. Wasn’t looking good but says he feels better. The doctor released him with an Acute Pericarditis diagnosis. I looked it up and it appears to be the mildest of the half dozen or so various Pericarditis diagnosis’. His wife ask the cardiologist to associate his diagnosis with the jab (still upset from her previous day’s news) and he told her he will document the event. Our neighbor is not on heart medication that I know of but the bag of medications he carried out of the hospital would make one question whether or not he should have been released. He has chest pains after walking short distances and cannot take a deep breath without chest pain so he is moving rather slowly. He is going to be out of work until further notice with weekly doctor checkups unless he has chest pains and/or develops a fever between scheduled doctors appointments. No triathlon training in his near future. He did not care one bit for his hospitalization experience and stated he will find another hospital if he needs to be admitted again.
Today, a neighborly morning check was accepted and he looks a little better than he did yesterday. I think it has to do with him being home and getting a good night’s rest. He thanked me for taking care of the lawn and transporting his wife to/from the hospital.
Went to check on my boat this afternoon and was told one of the marina workers I knew passed away of a brain aneurysm within 3 days after getting his booster jab. 49 year old Retired Vet. We use to share deployment stories. Neither of us were in the same unit or deployment areas at the same time so it was interesting to compare experiences. He and our discussions will be missed.
Know of people who had COVID, no one dying or disabled from it but I know of three post jab victims. One prior to the two mentioned herein died of a coronary.
The only positive news I was alerted to via text is the OSHA Rule requiring companies with 100 employees to get fully vaccinated has been halted. Whether it is temporary or not will be required before I blow my stereo speakers playing “America”.
