Hello All, Welcome to my channel!
Idaho has been a popular destination for those looking to move within the US, especially from western states like Washington, Oregon, and of course California. Idaho residents are not too pleased with the amount of new residents moving into the area. This is a lot more than just dislike or distrust of outsiders. Here are some reasons why Idahoans do not want you or any other to move within their borders.

1) This state is not big enough for a large population. The vast majority of the state is federally and state owned and there is large amounts of territory that has harsh mountainous or desert terrain. Many people also own large ranches, farms, and other agricultural properties.
2) Idaho's political climate has always been conservative and I expect that to continue. But, Boise itself has become quite a bit more liberal as of late. There was less than five point margin of victory for Donald Trump in Ada County in the 2020 election. This state is still very conservative, but many Idahoans dislike the direction that they have been going in the last few elections. There is a significant dislike for people moving from states that are leaving liberal states and cities to come to Idaho. This is why so many Idahoans hate Californians.
3) Housing has become a problem in recent years due to the large increase in demand in Idaho. Prices have gone crazy and the competition for housing has never been higher. If you have increases in housing without proportionate salary increases this makes it seemingly unaffordable for many locals.
4) As the population changes, so do politics, norms, and the culture of a place. Many long time Idahoans like the way things are. Increasing the population just doesn't allow for things to remain as they once were. Idahoans feel as though the culture and feel in their small towns have been lost to subdivisions, concrete, and chain restaurants.
5) The job market is saturated and the growth in job opportunities is a little lower than population growth in many places. If you are looking to move to the area it is definitely smarter to find work in advance. Because the cost of living is so much more expensive, you have to find a job that pays enough for necessities. Hopefully you enjoyed the video!
