Australia’s “brain-dead approach to energy” has caused our current energy catastrophe, says Sky News host Chris Smith.
“Yes, the world is suffering from power sanctions imposed on Russian gas, but most of Europe has nuclear reactors to fall back on,” he said.
“Not little ole Australia - we've been too frightened to even make power from our vast uranium deposits legal. There's a law against it.
“And of course, we signed away the rights to our gas on the east coast, to multinationals lock, stock and barrel.
“What an international laughing stock Australia has become over energy.”

Let's borrow Hoover's slogan of A chicken in every pot & 2 cars in each garage; Solar panels on every roof & a windmill in each backyard. This gives individual families or businesses the capability of generating their own electricity & not be completely reliant on the local utility company for power

I realize my above suggestion cannot supply 100% of our electrical needs. But even if it were capable of generating a third of what was required, this would then reduce the amount of electrical power that needs to be generated by burning coal or natural gas, hydro-electric or nuclear power plants.

‌these are simple and easy things to implement. Your last item- nuclear power is the real way to go. It's the cleanest and really the concept of generating nuclear power is very simple, but the stigma of nuclear leaves it at the moment the least favorable choice

A‌nd it's not really nuclear, in that the term nuclear implies fusion. A better term would be atomic, in that atomic energy relies on fission.
