Life is so short, and it is so much more fragile than we like to admit. Tell people you love them while you still have the chance. Tell them you care. Remind them often. Don’t assume they know. Don’t let pride, fear, awkwardness, or the possibility of rejection keep you from saying what matters. Take the chance. Have the conversation. Make the phone call. Show up. Give grace freely. Forgive quickly. Be patient with people. Love them while they are still here to receive it. And more than anything, tell people about Christ. Read Scripture. Pray. Share the Gospel. Encourage someone who is struggling. Point people back to Jesus every chance you get, because everything in this life is temporary, but eternity is not. Meanwhile, there are people we love, conversations we keep putting off, and opportunities to glorify God that we assume we’ll have tomorrow. But tomorrow was never promised to any of us. Make your life count for something eternal.
