🚨BREAKING: Sean Grayson, the former Illinois deputy who fatally shot Sonya Massey, has died in prison.
Grayson, 32, died Sunday while serving a 20-year sentence for second-degree murder. He had been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to his liver and lungs. He was denied medical release only weeks earlier.
In July 2024, Massey, 36, called police for help after reporting a possible prowler outside her home. Bodycam footage showed the encounter escalating inside her kitchen. Grayson shot her in the face. He was convicted and sentenced to the maximum 20 years.
His attorney confirmed the death but provided no further details.
