The most audacious banana theft of the year? In a village near the forests of Rwanda, a scene unfolded that could have come straight out of a comedy. A shopkeeper had just opened his store when suddenly a gorilla appeared. Without any panic or fear, and seemingly with a clear purpose, he marched into the small shop. While the owner tried to chase him away with shouts, the gorilla ignored everything around him, calmly grabbed a banana, and then turned around once more. In doing so, he made a gesture that many viewers interpreted as a clear "middle finger". 😅 He then left the store with his loot in a completely relaxed manner. The video sparked much laughter online. But behind this curious scene lies a more serious reality: Due to deforestation and the loss of natural habitats, gorillas and other wild animals are increasingly being pushed into the vicinity of human settlements. In search of food, they enter villages and cities because their living space is increasingly shrinking. So perhaps this was less a cheeky raid than a silent sign that we humans and animals share the same living space - with consequences for both sides.
