STOP USING SCIENCE FOR IGNORANCE OF WAR AND BLAMING MANKIND FOR LIVING...USE SCIENCE TO PATIENTLY GUIDE MANKINDS FUTURE!
Science a tool for peacebuilding

science has become indispensable in the work for peace and for everything needed to care for all people, present and future. Because, as economist Herman Daly says, what we need now is a radical ethical and ecological approach, which leads us to a great challenge: this century, if we want to survive as a species, we will have to make strong growth in the level of global human development compatible with a reduction of resources in rich countries. It is not an easy task, but it is what any ecological balance approach entails.
Fortunately, science and technology provide us, and can continue to provide us, with resources to eradicate hunger and poverty, improve healthcare, end energy injustice and achieve the rest of the UN sustainable development goals. Tools to improve water use efficiency, distributed green energy systems, new means to tackle diseases and solutions for many other problems.
Of course it can be argued that science is behind all the great advances in weapons and other war supplies, but the fact is that many tools derived from science and technology are dual use. Drones, for example, can save lives in mountain rescues and also kill people from a distance. We have learned to make wonderful tools, but we alone are responsible for their use. We have, and will continue to have, very powerful tools to build peace; we just need to decide to use them in the pursuit of goals that are ethical, that promote peace and care for people, and not for destruction. Because only we are responsible for these tools.
Yes, science can help mankind and the world in many ways, including:
• Informed decision making
Science can help people make decisions about what products are safe, what foods are healthy, and how to diagnose and treat diseases. Governments can use science to create and enforce rules.
• Solving problems
Scientific research can help solve complex problems in areas like healthcare, ecology, economics, and energy. For example, scientists were able to predict the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, allowing thousands of people to evacuate.
• Improving quality of life
Science can improve quality of life in many ways, including through advancements in medicine, transportation, communication, and more.
• Developing new technologies
Scientific knowledge allows us to develop new technologies, like cell phones, that improve our lives.
• Understanding the world
Science helps us understand the world around us, including how the ozone layer formed, how to protect crops from pests, and who our ancestors were.
However, science has limits and can't solve every problem. For example, science can't determine if government-run or market-run healthcare is better because "better" is subjective. Science also can't address problems that are non-physical, like love, hate, relationships, art, and spirituality.
, science is not an ideology, but some believe it can be influenced by ideology:
• Definition of ideology
An ideology is a set of ideas that guide a group or individual's beliefs and actions, often relating to politics, economics, or society. Examples of ideologies include capitalism, communism, socialism, and Marxism.
• Science and ideology have different roles
Science should strive for objectivity and validity, while ideology should use scientific facts to form arguments in politics.
• Science can be influenced by ideology
If science is not separate from society, it can be influenced by social values, power relations, or the dominant norms of the time. This can lead to science reflecting the ideologies of its practitioners.
• Some believe all knowledge is ideological
Some believe that all knowledge, including scientific knowledge, is ideological, and that there is no neutral, objective body of knowledge.
