I remember when Memorial Day was May 31st and it didn't matter what day of the week it was on. Then Congress got greedy and wanted 3 day weekends so they made Memorial Day, Labor Day, Presidents Day, and a few others to be on Mondays so they could get a paid 3 day weekend.
