Today in 1918, two soldiers of the US Army's 369th Infantry Regiment (aka Harlem Hellfighters) fend off a German attack in the Argonne Forest. One of them, Henry Johnson, is wounded 21 times during the clash. They will be the first Americans to win France's Croix de Guerre.
