    To my knowledge, no one in my family ever was killed in combat. But I have 2 friends who both lost uncles in WWII. One of them was part of a tank crew during the North African campaign. The other was the coxswain of a landing craft that was lost retaking the Phillipeans.

    ‌OUT OF BOTH MY MOTHERS AND FATHERS FAMILIES MY BROTHER AND MYSELF WERE THE ONLY ONES TO EVER SERVE, I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO GO INTO A WAR ZONE!!!!!!!!

    ‌ I am not a veteran. Neither are either of my sons. But my dad was a veteran. 1 of my grandfathers, & 2 out of 3 of my uncles were veterans, along with several of my cousins.
