Why do you suppose that on Google Maps, the Euphrates instantly changes from a dull bluegreen to a nice navy blue in a straight line just Southwest of Bagdad?

My guess, being South of the City on a river that runs North to South, it could be the outlet from a wastewater treatment plant.
