    The Windsor building in Madrid was 32 stories/348 ft tall. A fire started on the 21st floor & burned for several hours before anyone took note, because it was almost midnight & no one was in the building at the time. Neither did it help that the fire alarm system was not working.

    The Twin Towers were each 110 stories/1365 ft tall. The jet that hit the north tower impacted floors 93 to 99. The jet that hit the south tower impacted floors 75 to 85. Both planes weighed about 100 thousand pounds, carried upwards of 24 thousand gallons of fuel, & were traveling at around 400 MPH.

    Jet fuel burns at approximately 1800* F, while wood & other construction material burns at about 900* F.
