Missile launchers and anti-aircraft defenses for Ukraine
Germany wants to deliver four multiple rocket launchers from Bundeswehr stocks to Ukraine. This is happening in close coordination with the United States, which would also train Ukrainian soldiers on the systems, the German Press Agency learned from government circles on Wednesday. The plan is to deliver the heavy weapons, which can hit targets at long range, by the end of the month. It is said to be the MARS II rocket launcher.
During the budget debate in the Bundestag, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) had previously promised Ukraine the delivery of a modern anti-aircraft system to fight Russian attackers. In addition, the Ukrainian armed forces will be provided with a modern tracking radar that can spot artillery, said Scholz.
