Been playing with my tools and building new "toys." This is a customized Mosin-Nagant in 7.62x54r.
Totally refurbished, refinished and refreshed. It has a Timney trigger, a Konus 6-24x50 scope, and a Green Mountain 24"x7/8" bull barrel, with an 11° target crown. Tack driver! The machinist was Wes Gardner, from Lynchburg, VA.
The scope mount is from Rock Solid Industries, the best maker of Mosin scope mounts.

    The looming 2nd Civil War will be nothing like the 1st. There won't be uniformed groups facing off against each other across open fields. There won't be flags to rally round or officers barking out orders. The 2nd Civil War will take the form of simultaneous acts of arson &/or serial assassinations.

    It will be very up close & personal. You won't need a long range rifle with a scope. Handguns & shotguns will prove better at such close range. A gallon or 2 or 3 of gasoline will also prove just as effective as multiple boxes of ammunition.

    ‌Personally, if this thing does cook off, I would like to see the Militia organized into 5 man fire teams centered around a DM/Sniper with a spotter and 3 black gun folks to provide a bit of security. Long Range fire is a force multiplier.

    ‌Good team, good tactics, one shot, than get the heck out of dodge, relocate for the next. A squad of 3 fireteams should be able to keep a mob at quite a distance., A platoon of 3 squads, a company of 3 platoons, etc.

    Waldo, I just finished building an AR just like that one in the above pic. Almost exactly like it. Great minds think alike, Brother. I'm an "Old School" Marine. Why get into it, close up and personal, when you can leisurely pin them down and pick 'em off, over time? No fucking mercy.

    R‌ather than taking out the guy or gal with the bullhorn, it would be far more effective to take out the guy or gal who bought the bullhorn & is paying people $50 to show up to riot. This is a matter of tactical versus strategic.
