Three years ago today, Quentin Hicks was murdered by an "alt-righty" whose phone was stuffed full of murder videos, including a neo-Nazi attack on New Zealand and a video of a man shooting a police officer. The killer also had a large history of international travel and an extensive weapons collection, despite living on a small fixed income...The "alt-right" was an attempt to rename neofascism to get around the bad reputation attached to the word "fascism". The fact that "alt-right" activists failed to grasp that killing people might be bad for their reputation ultimately spoiled the rebrand. This case is a reminder that #BlackLivesMatter and #BlueLivesMatter do not conflict - the same people who will murder a random black man on the street will just as willingly kill police officers.
