46 years ago today, Mireya de Lourdes Pérez Vargas was captured by Pinochet's goons. According to their official reports, she was killed on site. In reality, it appears that she was only wounded and taken to the Villa Grimaldi torture center. Two other MIR members and Susana Elizabeth Sanhueza Salinas (age seven) were also killed in the attack. At least the MIR members managed to take one of Pinochet's thugs with them. Remember Susana and Mireya when you see people wearing those cutesy little shirts with the pictures of people being dropped out of helicopters and the "Pinochet did nothing wrong" slogan.
