Now we know why LBJ passed this legislation. Because the Democrats repeatedly discriminated against black citizens ( post Civil War) and they continued to vote Republican. So, LBJ created the "Great Society" and decided that giving them "voting rights", which they already had, would insure they voted Democrat. The rest is history. 😡 Just look at the poor conditions black Americans have lived for the past 55 years. Has their situation really improved since 1965?
