$14bn F-35 Software Upgrade Installed Despite Being “Immature, Deficient and Insufficiently Tested”
The Pentagon’s testing office has confirmed the massive software upgrade for F-35 fighters has already been deployed despite severe concerns over its readiness.
The F-35 contains some 8 million lines of computer code which have been plagued by problems since the last round of updates began in 2020.
Despite costing $14bn already, Defense Department testing director Nickolas Guertin claims the program has “not sufficiently funded” teams to test the software fully.
