Under the proper rule of law, all forms of government are the same. All forms of government can be corrupt and abandon the rule of law.
There are three basic forms of government:
1. Democracy (Rule of the People) where laws are promulgated and decided by the People.
2. Monarchy (Rule of One) where laws are made by one person.
3. Aristocracy (Rule of the Best) often called a Republic (government by representation) laws are promulgated and decided by a small body of individuals who represent larger groups of citizens.
Each of the above forms of government can be corrupted:
1. A corruptedDemocracy becomes a Mob.
2. A corrupted Monarch is a Tyrant.
3. A corrupt Aristocracy is an Oligarchy.
When not corrupt (or incompetent), all forms of government work just fine.
I will add that all forms of government are inherently corrupt due to humans being humans. A corrupt and incompetent government usually reflects a corrupt, incompetent populace. If you want better government you need better people.

Lao Tzu was a philosopher in the 6th century BCE. He is traditionally considered the author of the “Tao te Ching”, which is based on Paleolithic observations of nature and the universe. In modern political terms, Taoism would be Libertarian but is far much more. The Tao stresses rational thought and personal responsibility.
Freedom of choice is central to the Tao. Amassing wealth through honest means does no harm. Honest labor and trade benefits all in society, the way Adam Smith called the “invisible hand” of self interest profits all. The Tao makes freedom from government interference as all important. The Master guides, and people exclaim “Look what we have accomplished!” As Reagan once said, “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit.”
No, the US is not the utopia anybody imagined, not under the current, corrupt administration. Not with oppressive taxes and economy crippling regulations. According to estimates, nearly ten million Americans have chosen to flee the US since 2000 with the majority fleeing after Obama’s election.
Religion in the US has been under government attack for decades. Christianity is in measured decline. Thomas Jefferson justified federal funding of schools with this: “Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”
Do schools teach any of that? No, they cannot and the unions refuse.
The Tao helps people become aware of their environment and the societal decay is evident. The current government is speeding that decay by punishing morality, silencing dissidents and isolating political prisoners.
Cities that once were shining gems and examples of the American Dream have been reduced to crime and poverty ridden Third World shitholes at the hands of Democrats and Socialist policies. This is the very definition of Dystopia yet the model of what the Left wants for all the nation.
