We as a world are not lacking in resources, we just suck at spreading them out. Imagine a global wealth cap. Cap both individuals and businesses, make laws that treat breaking these caps punishable at the same levels as murder. Once you've reached the cap - which would still make you a very wealthy human - anything over that cap is put into resources for communities. Infrastructure, education, health and safety, elder and disability care, mental health resources, food banks and shelters, dry houses and drug treatment programs, everything a society needs to make sure we do absolutely everything to stop people from falling through the cracks. There would obviously still be people who are greedy and power hungry, we cannot avoid that. Instead of appointing them as leaders, we treat them as what they are - parasites and diseases upon what could be a decent society. Those who become rich would still get glory, they would still live very comfortable lives. They would also be regarded as heroes for taking care of the community around them. We have the technology to make this a thing."

Your words which may be intended to bridge any gaps in understanding are violence to them. These people are often not a part of the groups they are attempting to defend and probably discredit them as well to some people, which is actually really sad and damaging.
Imagine being homeless, laying on the sidewalk in front of the Whitehouse, and looking up to see this. That would be a truly American experience.

The current state of capitalism appears to be shifting towards a model where people beginning their careers are increasingly required to share living quarters with roommates in order to split costs while also relying heavily on various types of subscriptions for goods and services.
