No, U.S. Rep. Al Green did not lose his Democratic primary for Texas’s 18th Congressional District. Due to recent redistricting that shifted much of his former base from the 9th District into the 18th, he faced a competitive race against fellow incumbent Rep. Christian Menefee (who won a special election for the seat earlier this year) and other challengers. With more than 95% of votes reported from the March 3, 2026, primary, Green received about 44% of the vote, trailing Menefee’s 46%, but neither candidate secured a majority. As a result, both advanced to a runoff election scheduled for May 26, 2026. The winner of that runoff is expected to have a strong advantage in the solidly Democratic district during the November general election.
HOPEFULLY THE END IS NEAR FOR AL GREEN AND WILL BE ACHIEVED ON MAY 26, 2026!!
