Based on the latest reported results from the Texas Democratic U.S. Senate Primary on March 3, 2026, James Talarico has indeed defeated Jasmine Crockett. With most votes counted, Talarico received approximately 51.6% (around 821,000 votes), Crockett got 47.1% (around 750,000 votes), and Ahmad Hassan trailed with about 1.3%.    This marks a notable win for Talarico, a state representative from Austin known for his progressive stances on education and civil rights, over Crockett, a U.S. Congresswoman from Dallas who gained national attention for her viral congressional moments and focus on criminal justice reform. Talarico will advance to face the Republican nominee in the November general election for the seat currently held by Sen. John Cornyn.
