Copied from same page. God's ARMY-Soldier Of FaithA response to an unbiblical understanding:It’s ironic to dismiss GOD and Scripture as untrue, then selectively appeal to the Bible when it seems useful for a moral argument. You don’t get to reject the authority of the text and still draft it into service as your referee. If the Bible is false, it has no moral leverage. If it’s true, then it must be taken on its own terms—not reshaped to fit modern sensibilities.Biblically, care for the foreigner never meant the erosion of law or borders. Scripture consistently affirms both compassion and order. Israel was commanded to love the sojourner, but the sojourner was also commanded to live under the law of the land. Mercy was never lawlessness.“One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.” (Exodus 12:49)“You shall have the same rule for the sojourner and for the native.” (Leviticus 24:22)“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.” (Romans 13:1)The biblical vision isn’t open borders or moral chaos—it’s ordered compassion. Justice without mercy becomes cruelty, but mercy without truth becomes rebellion. The Bible doesn’t pit love against law; it puts them together under the authority of GOD.So when Scripture is quoted to undermine law itself, it’s not a biblical argument—it’s a selective one.
