We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed, if necessary.” He even tossed in a sassy “We do not need any further help from the federal government. The Response was… Oh, you betcha, we’re talking about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz channeling his inner rebel by issuing a “warning order” to prep the National Guard for potential deployment amid the ICE shooting fallout—because nothing says “peaceful resolution” like getting armed state troops ready to rumble while lecturing everyone not to “take the bait” from the feds. Republicans are losing their minds, calling it a straight-up threat of armed insurrection or “civil war style rhetoric” against federal agents just doing their job enforcing immigration laws, with calls to invoke the Insurrection Act (18 U.S.C. § 2383, for those keeping score at home) and even arrest the guy. Walz insists it’s all about protecting Minnesotans from becoming pawns in a “national political fight” and keeping protests chill, but when you’re mobilizing troops to potentially “counter” ICE ops on American soil?
