Mark Carney might as well stand at the border and say, “Come on in, Canada has free health care for everyone.” Then, in a quieter voice, add: “And if the system fails you, we also have MAID for you, your parents, and your grandparents.”
The message seems to be: you are welcome as long as you can be managed, billed, and, in the end, recycled. Bodies become just another “green” resource, and dignity is an optional extra. Canadians know at the end: “Soylent Green is people!” But worse – they are real Canadians.
Mark, this must stop. Canada is not a playground for global clients or a laboratory for policies that treat people as expendable. Stop selling a health care to foreigners’ dream that no longer matches reality, and stop using assisted death as a convenient escape hatch for a system in crisis.
