Bondi and Blanche are blaming judges for their own incompetence. There is no question that we have many issues with activist judges, but they intentionally botched the Comey case. The law is clear. The Comey and James cases were dismissed because they were filed by Halligan, whom they knew could not be appointed. Halligan was set up to fail by the DOJ. Blaming judges for following the plain language of the law is absurd. The Comey case was filed so Bondi could pretend to act, while ensuring it would fail and place Comey beyond the statute of limitations. This is completely unacceptable. Section (d) explicitly states that after 120 days, the district court appoints the special counsel. This isn’t judicial activism—it’s DOJ corruption. Tom Renz @RenzTom
