The Department of Education Gets A Failing Grade Cartoon published 11/24/2025 Democrat-run cities are failing when it comes to education. The unsatisfactory results have worsened through the years. Too much taxpayer money has been thrown toward the problem, without seeing any improvement whatsoever. Too many students in the big blue cities graduate while being functionally illiterate. Teachers can’t be fired due to teachers unions. The curriculum has been dumbed down in order to allow students to pass. This is also happening in red states. The Department of Education was started during Jimmy Carter’s administration, and the expensive bureaucracy that was created has proved to be a monumental flop. Back then the US was near the top in the western world in terms of education. Now it’s near the bottom. The DOE is staffed mostly by Democrats. Most of the teachers in unions are Democrats. They teach DEI more than the ’three Rs’ and would rather talk about gender than geography. It’s no wonder young people want socialism—they’ve been trained to want it. They’ve been trained to pursue ’social justice,’ not logic and reason. Laziness is rewarded while excellence is ridiculed. Too many students are trained to be Antifa thugs, not patriots. Few understand American history because it’s not being taught.
