If you do so when retired or no longer on active duty you can be recalled to active duty and prosecuted. Military may be used to oppose treason and sedition against the people and the Republic. President Abraham Lincoln had no problem doing it, therefore he established precedence. Those who take money to demonstrate and attack federal authorities, police and federal property are paid mercenaries on U.S. soil, i.e. terrorist et al. Title18 sec 2381/2383, therefor enemies of the people and the Republic....because they do not represent a nation state they are not entitled to the protections of the Geneva Convention.What they ARE entitled to is an indefinite stay at #GITMO or Florence Supermax Prison until their execution date. Treason is a CAPITAL offense.
