It seems to me that Team Trump knew exactly how the Dems would react once Texas began their redistricting efforts which was to start a "gerrymandering war". The problem that the Dems have is that their efforts will have minimum impact as they are, to a large extent, all gerrymandered out. As more & more red States join in the fun, such as Missouri, Kansas, Florida and Ohio, the Dems will eventually lose.
