don't personally know the guy but here I am, reposting from another platform as what he says is so #valid and #vital for so many people! Feel free to #repost folks, I hope you like the quote as much as I do. Thanks!
Quote start:
"If You Didn’t Know, Now You Do.
Now tell others!
Let’s get something straight. Y'all make it so hard not to stay quiet and just go about my business.
This parade has really unmasked a lot in people. When I served, which means raising your hand and committing to dying for your country if necessary, I never knew so many Americans were so ungrateful. I assumed they meant it when they said, “thank you for your service,” to which I always reply, “it was my honor.”
The parade is the U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary Grand Military Parade. It celebrates the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, founded on June 14, 1775, by the Second Continental Congress as the Continental Army.
Now, because “Trump” they would want to deny us a celebration of 250 years protecting this nation. I am so sorry to all of you moronic extremists that June 14 was around before Trump happened to be born on that day. That America had celebrated this day for 171 years, through 7 major conflicts including 2 World Wars before Trump was even born. Over a half a million Army soldiers have never come home to their families for this country. Not for Trump. For you, for all of you. A total of 1.35 million service members across all branches have died for the people of this country.
This parade. This celebration of 250 years of the United States Army isn’t just about military might. It’s about heritage. It’s about sacrifice. It’s about generations of men and women who raised their right hand, knowing full well they may never come home the same or at all.
Just over 6% of Americans shoulder the responsibility of defending the rights and freedoms that the other 94% enjoy daily. That includes the freedom to speak your mind, even if what you say is ignorant, disrespectful, or completely out of touch with the reality of what these service members endure.
You want to mock a tribute to our military?
You want to call soldiers “terrifying” or “dangerous”?
Fine. That’s your right.
But here’s the truth:
You only have that right because of them.
This celebration honors those who stormed beaches and crossed deserts. Those who came home missing limbs, battling trauma, and mourning the brothers and sisters they lost. It’s for the Gold Star families who received a folded flag instead of a welcome-home hug. And still, through all of that, many of them would do it again, not for recognition, but because they believe in something greater than themselves.
So no, this isn’t about glorifying war.
It’s about recognizing courage.
It’s about honoring heritage.
It’s about remembering that freedom has a cost, and it’s been paid by people far braver than the ones tweeting hot takes from behind a screen, saying Fuck America while they enjoy the freedom of their Uber Eats and their soy milk lattes.
So if you don’t want to clap, don’t. But don’t you dare disrespect the reason you even get to sit in that seat in the first place.
Because this celebration isn’t just for those who agree with it.
It’s for everyone, including those who oppose it.
But it is also so sad that the angry, delusional left has made all patriotic celebrations toxic.
So if you’re not here to honor sacrifice, legacy, and service—Sit down, shut the fuck up, and let the real Americans be proud.
