Kathy ‌ It should be cut, my dad died yesterday, and my step mom has to return his SS check, even though he used more than half of it.

GrammyRose‌So very sorry for your loss! May he rest in peace. I could be wrong, but I thought SS checks were paid for the month before..like the check for March would be payment for February. I could be wrong. Regardless, if nothing else, it should be pro-rated.

Kathy ‌ Thanks, yes, they should be prorated. He was in hospice, but still had bills at home to be paid.

GrammyRose‌I don't know if it would do any good, but if she has copies of his bills, she should submit them to SS. I know it's a pain in the butt, but who knows.

GrammyRose‌Yeah...take them the bills and tell them they got his money, they can pay his bills....lol. I know that's unrealistic, but it was fun.
