I didn't see the movie. Was it about the Ballon Corps of the Union and Confederate Armies. I seem to remember something about that let me look in my bookcase.

oldmarinesgt5 I believe these 2 guys were English. It was done more with the intention of learning about meteorology & the weather. They set altitude records at >30,000 feet. In comparison, hot air observation balloons used during the Civil War usually did not go higher than 1000 feet.
