I would say Bella is "my dog" but she owns me as much or more. She is 130 lbs of stubborn, dominant, defiant, possessive Cane Corso/Rottweiler that I saved on her last 24 hours of life in a small town kill shelter in rural New Mexico. We are so bonded we know the other's thoughts sometimes. She sleeps on my bed. It was her choice not mine. I tried to crate her when I first brought her home - nope. Moaning and mooing all night. I moved the crate into my bedroom. Nope, not good enough. More Moaning and mooing. I bought a really nice big girl dog bed and put it next to my bed. Nope. We share a queen now. I really like sleeping with her. She is as big as a lot of people but it is so much different. I have never felt so protected. She maybe mine but I am equally hers. Most nights my husband gets to kiss me good night but if it goes on too long, she gets in the middle.
