BigRedConservative
White to move.

BigRedConservative
Peet is not correct.
Sorry, Peet. This one is deeper than that.

Peeeeet
B2 and b3 are bishops correct?

BigRedConservative
That is correct. b2 and b3 are Bishops.

Peeeeet
Then I stick with my original mov

Peeeeet
Then I stick with my original mov

BigRedConservative
Hint: Bishop on b3 moves first.

Peeeeet
I disagree. I can take your knight for a pawn, if you want to trade pieces later we can do that.

FreedomLady
Wouldn't the next move be from d.3 to e.1 after black knight to d.3??? I don't play Chess that often, but that's what I saw. Sorry.

FreedomLady
Sorry to interfere in a "manly" game. But, you know us women....we love to but in and do our best!!

Peeeeet
White has next move, under my suggestion black knight no longer exists. A couple other items, white rook and king are on white spaces while black bishop is on black, and therefore could only be used as a guard to protect another checkmating piece. I don’t see that on this board. I would actually b... View More

WaldoJPeabody
White Biship takes black rook, Than, Black has two choices take white biship with black knight or black pawn, White rook, sacrifices by taking whichever, being lost to the other, clearing way for white pawn to advance. Game pretty much over.

WaldoJPeabody
BigRedConservative Is this the one you are making notation 2 comments down?

BigRedConservative
WaldoJPeabody Probably.

BigRedConservative
I figured you were done when you seemed unwilling to explore a continuation starting with the Bishop hint that I gave you. "When you find a good move, look for a better move".
I'll give you the complete exchange...

This position is transitioning from late mid-game into the endgame. White is down a piece. Yes, capturing the Knight evens material, but Black has better position. Separating the King-side pawns further weakens White's position. By exchanging pieces as posted above Black ends up with a Bishop, but c... View More

As the bord is , you would be check mated in 2 moves if I was white """"" period

BigRedConservative
ok, do tell. Mate in two, White to play. Go...

Peeeeet
Ain’t happening Darrell

Patriot Darrell Gill
My bad , I was drunk !
Hehe

BigRedConservative
I was waiting to disect your continuation! All good my friend.

Patriot Darrell Gill
Hehehe sorry folks . I was drunk !!!!!!!!!

Peeeeet
Hey Red, to continue our debate, I take your knight with my pawn, what’s your next move?

BigRedConservative
Ok, you just lost the game with that move, but here are the next few moves for you, and you will see the wheels start falling off.
1. Nxf4. Rxd1
2. Bxd1, Ba3
3. Bb3, Bxb4...
You move your King up, I move my King up and my pawns are protected...

BigRedConservative
Peeeeet, where'd you go?

Peeeeet
Sorry red I don’t know how to follow your nxf4 etc

Peeeeet
I’m no grand wizard

BigRedConservative
That was a mistake on my part. That should have read
1. gxf4 (Your pawn takes my Knight)
You asked my response. It woud be my Rook captures your Rook on d1.
I assume you would capture my Rook with your Bishop, afterwards I move my Bishop to a3, attacking two of your pawns.

Peeeeet
I follow that but my b4 goes to b5, you’re outnumbered there. One of my pawns gets through no matter how we trade those pieces. You can of course position your bishop depending on how we trade those pieces to block my pawn that gets through. While you’re busy doing that, I’ll be moving my bish... View More

Peeeeet
Red ?

BigRedConservative
So your next move is b5?
My move is cxb5
Your move

BigRedConservative
I'm out for the night. I'll reply to your next move in the morning.

Peeeeet
If your cx5b means your c6 pawn takes my b5, my next move would be a4, b5

BigRedConservative
PeeeeetAfter your move axb5 my move is axb5
Your move.

Peeeeet
Then you would a6, b5 yeah?

Patriot Darrell Gill
How are you keeping track dog ?

Patriot Darrell Gill
This has got to be one of the longest strings on the site!

BigRedConservative
Patriot Darrell Gill Peeeeet is going to have to learn the hard way that he is playing a lost game....

Patriot Darrell Gill
3b to 5 d . Check mate

Patriot Darrell Gill
Your welcome !

Peeeeet
Then I would c5 to c6, as I said earlier that would force you to either tie up your bishop or let my c6 pawn through. If you tie up my c6 I have the advantage because my b isn’t held down guarding against anything. And my c6 is now only 2 moves from being a q, and your king is 4 moves away from st... View More

Peeeeet Ok, I didn't see this post. Too many other posts in this thread are making it difficult to keep up.
SO after i moved a6xb5 you move c6?

PatriotCin You're way too late on this thread. Scroll Waaay up to see the winning continuation.

WaldoJPeabody
BigRedConservative Who did win, we didn't have tagging there for a while.

BigRedConservative
WaldoJPeabody I posted the answer on this thread close to the top. White should win provide the right moves are made
Peeeeet doesn't believe me so we're playing out the game according to how he would move. That's the thread that's going now.

WaldoJPeabody
BigRedConservative I'm going to tag you up to my post, I have been up all night and am having difficulty reading your notation. I also doesn't help that everything is so far from the board. Hang on

WaldoJPeabody Here is a link that explains Algebraic Chess Notation. It should help.

BigRedConservative Thanks, there were some of my fiends in high school that spent days playing on paper but I never developed the knack. Great thing about chess was it united us all across all ethnic, racial and religious differences. Something the Nation could use right now, that and a bit of pra... View More

WaldoJPeabody
BigRedConservative That explains my difficulty, I'm still thinking in terms of descriptive notation Squares denoted such as QB6

BigRedConservative
WaldoJPeabody Agreed. I'm in a group on fb that's strictly related to chess. There are people in that group from all over the world. All different religions, etc.
The group is not about that and does not focus on that. We are all there for love of the game. And yes, we could use more prayer!

WaldoJPeabody
BigRedConservative Indeed.

Gentle Friend BigRedConservative , Peeeeet us asking about a private chess game. If you want to pony up the 9.99 to get verified and Peeeeet wants to friend me, I'm beta testing group PM"s . This might be a good test. You won't be able to post the board but you can post the board on a wall and pla... View More

WaldoJPeabody
Gentle Friends, I've watched this game for a while and the problem most have with chess is proper employment of their pawns. Most don't even think of them. I played an interesting game in back in high school, I had studied my opponent's style of play (he was an aggressive point counter) and came ou... View More
