22 years ago today, Sheriff Dwight Woodrell was shot and killed while investigating suspicious activity outside of an oil and gas drilling company at approximately 0300 hours. It appears that the thugs responsible for his death were originally planning to rob the facility. One of the killers has tattoos proclaiming his allegiance to the white supremacist "Aryan Brotherhood" - though it comes as no surprise to anyone that white supremacists don't value the lives of white law enforcement officers.
