FROM THE DESK OF MINUTEMEN UNITED (www.mmunited.org) and NATURAL FAMILY FOUNDATION (www.NaturalFamilyStrong.com) -- James Harrison My Letter to the Editor "Innocence Lost at Parental Cost" As the National Director of Natural Family Foundation, I was recently invited to attend a Delaware School Board meeting due to concerns over what I was informed were steamy and sensual materials being offered to students there. . . and to say the least, I was shocked at what I witnessed! Not necessarily because of the lewd, erotic, and adult sexual materials that are now a growing part of the school’s curriculum, as it appears Delaware City Schools is right in line with other "WOKE" cultural institutions. These X-rated materials (e.g., pornography) notwithstanding, it seems that regardless of age, promoting prurient and aberrant sexual behaviors is now a required part of every child’s moral education – their young innocence and parental concerns being of little concern. Nor was I shocked at the board's openly disrespectful way of dealing with concerned citizens, which again seems to be part of a national trend. I was also not surprised at the school's comparatively low academic ( 3 R’s) ranking for its students, given the district’s current emphasis outside of academics. <span style="background-color: transparent;">What really shocked me was that in a school that houses just under 5700 students, I saw a little over a dozen concerned citizens that bothered to attend the meeting. Most of them do NOT even have children in the district! Now, if this had been a sports participation award meeting, well . . . </span> <span style="background-color: transparent;">Speaking of participation, parenting is a full time occupation with each parent’s role in a child’s education being critical, especially when it comes to the birds and the bees. In my humble opinion, "farming out" any parental responsibilities must be closely maintained as ultimately mom and dad are the ONLY child guardians who love their pupil, like only a parent can.</span> <span style="background-color: transparent;"> </span> <span style="background-color: transparent;">I trust that at the next board meeting, I will not only see a better parent representation; but that the parent’s values are considered to be a higher priority than what Delaware City schools are apparently trying to instill.
