Simply stated, an Invisible Disability, or hidden disability, is an umbrella term that captures a whole spectrum of hidden disabilities or challenges that are primarily neurological in nature.
"Invisible Disability" is a term for someone that is disabled, but not obviously so. It usually refers to chronic pain problems or chronic sickness like Crohn's disease (CD), Ankylosing-spondylitis (AS), Scoliosis, Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Osteoarthritis (OA), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Asthma, Chronic Fatigue, Diabetes (Type 1; Type 2; Insipidus), Fibromyalgia, Food and other allergies, Mental health disorders (depression, anxiety), Learning disabilities (ADHD, dyslexia), and other similar disabling issues that aren't totally apparent at first glance (those not requiring obvious need such as a cane, wheelchair, oxygen, or other assistive device).
