I decided to come out as a 12-stepper here. I've been clean & sober 18 years this past October. Many of you might have a relative or friend that needs to clean up but until they decide to do it for themselves, it just won't work. There is one sure way to spot a potential winner. He/She is the one who is committed enough to get clean that they will do anything (wiithin reason). The ones who hem and haw about what they're not going to do just aren't ready yet. Life has to kick and addict/alcoholic's ass pretty hard to give them that moment of clarity they need to decide to clean up. We're just hardheaded that way.
