    It is indeed nothing more, or less, than a contract between the Citizens of the States to form common Federal Government. One of the key aspects, laid out in the Preamble is to PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENCE and I don't see where we are being defended, rather, I see an invasion being aided.
