I think this is the right platform to share something. I know we all support our Veterans! I myself am Marine veteran who deployed many times. Sometimes the worst injuries are the ones inside our heads. Most of us will never take the uniform off as our brains won’t let us. 22 veterans EVERY SINGLE DAY commit suicide. If you know someone who is hurting, please provide them any help and support you can. They did not ask for this, but it’s impossible to just remove that side of us. I am so thankful to have a wife that understands. A wife that wakes up in the middle of the night to help me. Not everyone has this. Trust me anything can help. Just a few kind words of support. Having fun with them. These things really do help. I myself watch movies all the time. It’s my escape. As soon as they’re over it starts again. The government was not prepared for veterans to return home with PTSD. The number of psychiatrists was extremely understaffed and undertrained to handle these problems. Things are much better there and Veterans are being helped. I guess my ask is, if you know of a veteran struggling please know it’s not their fault and anything you do can help!
