Jesus, the new Adam. Whereas Adam brought sin into the world, and left a garden, Jesus was handed over in a garden and crucified in a garden to save us from that sin. Whereas Adam brought forth Eve from his side, Jesus healed the pain of Adam’s side by being pierced with a sword. Whereas Adam stretched out his hand to the tree in Eden for an evil one, Jesus was nailed to a tree with hands stretched wide to restore us from the fall and reign over the evil one. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” My friends, Jesus loves and adores you.
