    ‌. We were in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico when they were migrating from Mexico to the states. Butterflies as far as the eye could see. Phenomenal.

    You don't see that too much anymore. Or lightning bugs. Or frogs. Honey bees. Or bluebirds. We're losing species everyday. It's been 5 years since I've heard a bullfrog. Indicator species. Not good. The farmers around here use so many pesticides.

    ‌ I do know toads are on the endangered list. I’ve got many around my house and treat them like gold.

    Deletedall amphibians are. Frogs are now protected here. Used to frog gig all the time. Now there's a season and you can't even find them. Get caught with one it's the same as killing a deer out of season. It's the pesticides. Getting in the groundwater. It kills off the tadpoles.
