47 years ago today, Deputy Brigadier Leonardo Falco and constable Giovanni Ceravolo were murdered when searching the house of a neo-Fascist terrorist. The criminal escaped, but was sentenced in absentia to life in prison. His escape was short-lived; he would be recaptured in France in July.
