Mohave Daily NewsCRIT offering vaccination incentivesNews West staffJan 12, 2022 1:59 AMPARKER, Ariz. — The Colorado River Indian Tribes are using some of their American Rescue Plan Act funds to encourage members to vaccinate against COVID-19.Fully vaccinated tribal members are eligible to receive cash payments of $500 or $250 thanks to the incentive program.Every tribal member 18 and older who receives both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the required single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are eligible for a onetime payment of $500.The payment is $250 for tribal members between 5 and 17.Those who have been previously vaccinated are eligible.“For us to truly defeat the pandemic, everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated," said Amelia Flores, Tribal Council chairwoman. "Until that happens, more of our members risk becoming sick or dying. We can’t let this happen. These incentives are a wise use of dollars that provide some economic relief as well as preventing the spread of COVID-19.”The application period ends Jan. 31, 2022.CRIT is not the first tribe to offer vaccination incentives to indigenous members. Other tribes, like the Muscogee and Cherokee Nations in Oklahoma also have offered similar incentives to increase vaccination. In addition to the incentive program, CRIT has a Direct Cash Assistance Program to compensate all eligible tribal members age 18 and up who have experienced a negative economic impact because of the COVID-19 pandemic.Eligible tribal members can receive a cash assistance payment of $2,000 per eligible person if the requirements and deadlines are met. Finally, the tribe has also extended its “Safe at Home” Phase Two measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 until Jan. 31. The measures require masks to be worn in any indoor location outside of one’s home on tribal land.As of Dec. 30, 2021, there were 1,167 positive cases in CRIT tribal members and 20 COVID-19 related deaths. The CRIT Reservation stretches from just northwest of Parker, Ariz., to east of Blythe, Calif. along the Colorado River.CRIT includes four distinct tribes: the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi and Navajo.(They are using money as a way to convince people to get the fake COVID Shot.)Maybe you should warn them if they wanna finish growing up and be a Mommy and Daddy that many are saying the ("The COVID Jab" Steralizes folks.
