Been that way in Florida for years. When I came back to Florida 12 plus years ago it cost and arm and a leg to rent a box truck and trailer for my truck. it was actually cheaper to load my truck up and make two round trips and a return one way trip on the final leg then to rent the truck. but if you are moving out of Florida the rate was pretty damn cheap because they have an over abundance of equipment sitting here that is need to the north to rent to those still moving here. it’s also hard to terminate leased trucks, the dealers don’t want them and don’t want to return your deposit
