    Yes I see both happening, which leads to the thesis: Those who can't be controlled by pain are controlled with pleasure; and those who can't be controlled with pleasure are controlled by pain. Thoughts?

    All of us are "controlled" by pain or pleasure on some level. Or vis versa in your thesis. That is true. But that is not what life is truly all about. Thought?
