Tavriski Christian InstituteLegendary preacher, AB McReynolds, once said, "The best dollar spent is a dollar spent supporting our Bible colleges." He was speaking of a time when Bible colleges were producing mostly preachers and missionaries. And, he was making the point that the church of the future will need Godly servant-leaders all over the world who are trained by and educated by the Word of God. Whether Bible colleges, in general, today in America are actually accomplishing that may be debatable. But, I know that in eastern Europe, it is. Tavriski Christian Institute, as it is called, has been training servant-leaders for many post-Soviet countries for more than 20 years. I have seen firsthand its work and know many of the church leaders who have been students there. TCI is training leaders on the home campus in southern Ukraine and they send professors to train leaders on satellite "campuses" in closed countries like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. They have also begun training in India for students in other closed countries that can't be mentioned. Also, their campus houses the work of Pioneer Bible Translators-Ukraine that is in the process of producing Bible translations for 4 different Roma (gypsy) languages. This partnership also extends into the classroom as they send professors to the Roma people to provide practical ministry and Bible courses. Our church is privileged to have TCI on our mission support list. And, we are blessed to be able to help them reach into those "closed" countries where we cannot go. Many time, those who teach the TCI courses in those countries put their lives and freedom at risk just to be able to bless and strengthen the church and the small member of faithful believers who live there. Valik and Luba Sinly are great ambassadors for the college and we hope and pray that other churches and leaders can experience this important work that reaches far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Valik (Valentin) was one of TCI's first students and in now serving as its president. Several of its former students also serve on the board of directors. The school is on the verge of receiving federal accreditation that will make it the only bible college in Ukraine that can offer a degree that will transfer to any other college and make it possible for its graduates to use their undergraduate degree from TCI to pursue both masters and doctorate degrees. In addition to all that, as a mission, it is the only mission I know of that has a plan for "self-sufficiency". This process will take a few years. But, at least they have a plan that is making clear and steady progress. They have a working farm with 8 greenhouses where they produce a good income to help support the expanding needs of their ministry. I have seen all of this with my own eyes and cannot thank you enough for the consistent financial support that you give through your tithes and offerings that helps make mission work possible. TCI is just one example of how your money is multiplied in its effectiveness far beyond what you can imagine. With a grateful heart,Pastor Monte Smith North Syracuse Christian Churchhttps://www.facebook.com/NSyrCC
