A little advice would be great . Got my puppy home from my daughter's, and she was using these puppy pads . He uses them , and he'll go outside to but I'm afraid I'll be double training him ? He does use them , and it keeps him from doing his business all over , but I'm afraid it's not a good idea ?
I can't just let him out the door where I live . I guess I'm looking for some feed back on these pads ? Good idea or not ?

Crate training works much better and it doesn't reinforce going anywhere but outside.

nope puppy pads are not a good way to train.. the old school.. take the out as often as you can. Just like potty training a child.. take them in the B room as offten as you can..

Ha ha, First off congratulations on getting permission from your wife to get this precious pup. Tess learned fast to go outside but I’m retired and with her 24/7. Guess it depends on your situation.

Thanks everyone . That's what I was thinking to but I was afraid if I took them away and started outside training only it may confuse him at this point . I believe I'll take them away tomorrow and start taking him out every couple hours instead.. Don't want him thinking it's ok to go in the house a... View More

No puppy pads, just diligence, they wake up, out, they play hard, out, they eat, out, tess is a smart breed, but usually just takes couple weeks. Praise is important

They just need to let him out of the basement more often and he may be able to go without the pad. God help the rest of us if they let him out more often though.
