One Lost SheepI believe for every Christian there is at least one lost person who would respond to the Gospel of Jesus through them if they would just courageously share it. Everyone of us knows someone who is lost, outside of covenant relationship with God, and therefore facing a dark eternity away from the presence of the Lord, forever (II Thessalonians 1:9). And, in all likelihood, we have spent a great deal of time praying for them, and a great deal of emotional anguish desiring them to come to Christ before it is too late.I’ve spent a little time lately listening to YouTube debates between so-called Christians arguing over whether a person who hasn’t responded to the Gospel will end up in hell or not. Although the Bible is crystal clear on this subject, the debate rages on among intellectual types who either want there to be a different answer, or who want to sound intelligent debating those who are convinced that there is a different answer.Meanwhile, it seems, that the Gospel itself if not widely being heard in the ears of unbelievers so that they can either be convinced and saved, or remain unconvinced and walk away from certain salvation. While we are wrangling over the questions that we think can’t be answered, many people are facing judgment unprepared for what’s next.I feel like the main reason that Jesus told the Parable of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15) is because He wants us to be more like that shepherd who “left the 99 to go find the one lost sheep”. His heart is more concerned for the lost people we know than we are. But He has ordained us to be the ones who go and search and plead and preach and share the good news of salvation through, and only through the name of Jesus Christ.I challenge each and every Christian to be “one-focused”. Focus on one lost person until you find out whether or not they want Jesus. And if they don’t, lick your wounds and go find another lost sheep. And then repeat this process until Jesus comes back.Searching, Pastor Monte SmithNorth Syracuse Christian Churchhttps://www.facebook.com/NSyrCC
